Eco-Mission Retreat
Interested in organizing and participating in eco-friendly practices? Come gather ideas to take back
to your faith community or civic organization! This retreat is designed to be a
spiritual, informational and consciousness-raising experience that may serve as a springboard to action. Input, individual
reflection, group process and prayer will assist participants in examining personal and societal addiction to consumerism,
to comfort and to convenience. Participants will brainstorm ideas and receive a folder of resources outlining ideas to preserve
a healthy quality of life for future generations. Facilitator: Darrell Rupiper, OMI, a missionary oblate described as
a protester, prisoner and priest. Passionate to overturn injustices in the world, Darrell has walked with the homeless, protested
the nuclear arms race and traveled to Tehran twice during the Iran
hostage crisis. Most challenged by reading and meeting Thomas Berry and studying the works of Pope John Paul II, who spoke
out against ecological abuse, Darrell is convicted to helping people surface creative ideas to preserve Mother Earth. Fee:
