Tianyu, Professor at the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional
Chinese Medicine is a great treasure house of which therapeutic massage is one of the important parts. The class begins with
the fundamental concept of Yin/Yang, and progresses to the Theory of Five Elements. Students are given the opportunity
to apply appropriate hand techniques, acupoints and modalities to influence the ebb and flow of Qi (chi), the body¹s
vital force. Students will also participate in physical training emphasizing Qi awareness and development exercise (Qi Gong)
posture, body mechanics and flexibility.

Thai Herbal
Compresses:
The use of herbs is an
integral part of Traditional Thai Medicine, and heated herbal compresses are often incorporated into massage sessions. They
are beneficial in many chronic pain conditions, and are simultaneously relaxing and invigorating for the body and mind. In
this one day class, we will look at the properties of a variety of herbs that are typically used in Thailand
, along with a few more easily obtained western alternatives. We will go through the process of creating our own heated compresses
from the herbs on hand, and learn how to use them as part of a massage.

Reiki 3a Initiation & Tea Ceremony:
The Reiki process for focusing
one's intention towards their Personal Mastery. The course includes the teachings, the Master Symbol, the Master Attunement
and Initiation and the procedure for Self-Attunement. A further apprenticeship called Reiki 3b prepares the student to teach
and share Reiki professionally. We will begin our Initiation process on Saturday evening with the Tea Ceremony which will
be facilitated by Tea Master, Cynthia Wagner. This simple and elegant ceremony will gently guide us into calm presence and
mindfulness, in preparation for the Master Attunement which will be offered on Sunday.

Participants in this class will learn to perform
a full body massage on a pregnant client and the strokes that are appropriate for infants. At the end of this training, participants
will be able to: perform a full body massage on a pregnant client, list criteria of a high risk pregnancy, list physiological
effects of a Swedish massage, list contraindications for Swedish massage, list contraindications for Pregnancy massage, demonstrate
to parents and caregivers massage strokes appropriate for an infant using dolls as models, and discuss issues relating to
breast care and breast massage.
